Winter warning — check your tire pressure!

Untitled designDid you know air pressure in your tires is more likely to decrease during winter months? As it turns out, cold temperatures can cause air pressure to fluctuate, so it’s a good idea to check your tire pressure more often when cold snaps are prevalent.

A few things to keep in mind:

Use a quality air pressure gauge. You can buy a digital gauge to stash in your glove box for less than $15.

Don’t guess. The proper tire pressure levels for your vehicle can be found in your car’s owner’s manual or on the inside of your driver’s side door.

Be careful not to overdo it. When adding air to your tires, keep in mind that too much air can be dangerous, too.

Remember … good tire pressure ensures good gas mileage, makes your car handle better and reduces the risk of blowouts.
