Looking for a fun way to spend part of your weekend? Step back in time and enjoy a few hours at the historic Johnny Appleseed Festival, an annual event that draws huge crowds.

The festival, which runs Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., offers historically authentic crafts, demonstrations, entertainment, a children’s area and more. Head over to the event website for detailed descriptions of each of the festival areas.

You’ll also find plenty of delicious food … and it’s far better than what you eat at most other fairs and festivals (trust us on this one!). Enjoy ham and bean soup, chicken and dumplings, cornbread, caramel corn, apple pies, caramel apples and apple cider. All food is prepared in a period-appropriate manner, and the delicious aromas fill the air as you make your way through the festival grounds.

Hop in your Honda this weekend and experience one of Fort Wayne’s most beloved traditions!
