Where will your Honda take you? Chain O’ Lakes State Park
Whether you’re looking for an afternoon of fun, an entertaining day trip or a relaxing weekend away, northeast Indiana has plenty to offer. Join us as we explore some of the area’s most-loved destinations in our weekly blog series, Where will your Honda take you?
Feelin’ a little outdoorsy? A trip to Chain O’ Lakes State Park will feed your soul.
Rent a canoe and spend the day paddling your way through the park’s nine interconnected kettle lakes. The lakes, formed some 13,000 to 14,000 years ago, were created when large pieces of ice broke free of a glacier and were buried. Over time, the ice blocks melted, leaving deep, water-filled depressions.
If hiking is more your thing, lace up your shoes and explore more than 10 miles of forested trails, which include easy, moderate and rugged terrain.
You can also choose to rent a family cabin, or visit the park’s one-room schoolhouse nature center. A campground, beach and picnic shelters are available, as well.
Chain O’ Lakes State Park is located in Noble County, about 45 minutes north of downtown Fort Wayne.
