It’s time to start thinking about winterizing your car

Winter driving can be treacherous, so you’ll certainly want to make sure your car is ready for the seasonal onslaught of snow and ice. Here are some helpful tips to make sure you’re prepared for whatever Mother Nature has in store:

Replace your windshield wipers. Typically, wiper blades need to be replaced about once a year. If you haven’t done this for a while, now is a good time. You’ll also want to make sure you have an ample supply of washer fluid.

Test your battery before it bites the dust. Don’t wait until you have a problem. Instead, take the time to schedule a service appointment now, especially if your battery is more than three years old. Simply ask your service technician to check the battery’s posts and connections, making sure that everything is free of corrosion.

Check your tire pressure. If you want to get good traction on slick roads, you’ll need to start with properly-inflated tires. Keep in mind that air pressure tends to drop during cold weather, so it’s important to check tire pressure regularly. (Not sure what your tire pressure should be? Check your owner’s manual or the inside of your driver’s-side door.)

Our service technicians will be happy to check all of these things for you. Schedule an appointment sometime this month to make sure you’re ready before winter weather strikes!
