Is your service technician ASE Certified?

August 28th, 2015 by

downloadThe National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is an independent organization that offers an industry-wide national certification process for automotive technicians. More than 300,000 automotive technician and service professionals across the country hold this certification, which is widely recognized as the benchmark for competency throughout the automotive industry.

To earn ASE certification, technicians must:

  • Pass a comprehensive certification exam that covers various aspects of auto care (brakes, steering and suspension, engine repair, etc.)
  • Have at least two years of on-the-job training, or one year of on-the-job training and a two-year degree in automotive repair

Certification exams are not easy. In fact, only two of every three test-takers pass on their first attempt. To remain ASE certified, technicians must retest every five years to keep up with advancing automotive technology.

At Don Ayres Honda, we are proud to say that all of our technicians are ASE certified. When you schedule your car for service with us, you can rest assured that our technicians are among the best of the best!
