How to remove a bumper sticker from your car

July 27th, 2015 by

So, you decided to put a bumper sticker on your beloved Honda and now you’ve had a change of heart? Don’t worry. It happens to the best of us.

For starters, we need to caution you that this process is not foolproof and that you should remove the sticker only at your own risk. If you’re worried about damaging your car, it’s best to seek professional advice.

Now, if the sticker happens to be directly on your car’s paint, take a hair dryer and carefully apply heat around the edge of the sticker. Keep the hair dryer a few inches from your car at all times, otherwise damage could occur. Then, use a credit card or library card to gently peel the sticker from the car’s surface. You may have to repeat this process several times, working your way around the entire surface of the sticker. And again, be careful. You don’t want to chip your car’s paint.

Similarly, if you’re trying to remove a sticker from a car window, heat the sticker with a hair dryer. Instead of using a credit card, you may find that a razor blade is more effective. (Remember, you don’t want to use a razor blade on your car’s paint — we’re quite certain that’s a bad idea.)

When you’re finished, clean the area with a damp rag and vow never to put another sticker on your car. (Political statements and funny quotes are much better on T-shirts anyway.)
