You don’t have to play that dreaded waiting game when you visit the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. That’s right: say goodbye to long lines and overcrowded waiting areas. Instead, simply walk in, take care of business and be on your way in as little as 15 or 20 minutes!
We recently discovered a little-known feature on the Indiana BMV Web site that makes it possible to schedule your appointment ahead of time. When you do this, you get to wait in a much shorter line. Then, before you settle into one of those cold, hard waiting room chairs, you’ll hear someone call your name. Really, it’s a beautiful thing!
Take advantage o this handy little tool right here. Or, head over the main BMV Web site at www.in.gov/bmv and click on “Customer Service Locations.” Search for branches in your city or county and select one – you can schedule an appointment there, as well.

This tip is SO valuable. It saved me hours when I went to the BMV recently. I set up the time online; showed up and checked in at the desk upon arrival; and was the next person called, ahead of a room full of people who had first waited in line, then waited in seats. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment with the BMV. And while you’re on the site, you can make sure you have all the appropriate documents before your visit, making your life and theirs much easier. Thanks for the great advice!
