The Johnny Appleseed Festival is a fun Fort Wayne tradition
Looking for a fun way to spend part of your weekend? Step back in time for a few hours when you visit the 40th annual Johnny Appleseed Festival, a favorite Fort Wayne tradition that always draws an impressive crowd.
The festival, which runs Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., offers historically authentic crafts, demonstrations, entertainment, a children’s area and more.
You’ll also find plenty of delicious food … and it’s world’s better than the food you’ll find at any other fair or festival. (Trust us on this one!) Enjoy ham and bean soup, chicken and dumplings, cornbread, caramel corn, apple pies, caramel apples and apple cider. All food is prepared in a period-appropriate manner, and the delicious aromas fill the air as you make your way through the festival grounds.
While at the festival, be sure to stop and see the newly-landscaped area surrounding John Chapman’s gravesite.
We’re looking forward to a great fall weekend in the Fort, and we hope to see some of you there!
