Is your car ready for winter’s wrath?

Most of us are still reveling in the beauty of fall, but ‘Ole Man Winter will be here before we know it. It’s time to plan ahead! Here’s what you need to do to make sure your car is ready for winter looooong before the first snowfall arrives.

  • Make sure your battery has a full charge. Frigid temps can be tough on your car’s battery, so make sure you’re heading into the season with plenty of juice.
  • Consider winter tires. Do you do a lot of driving in snow and ice? You may want to think about winter tires, which are designed to improve handling across a range of cold-weather conditions.
  • Get new wiper blades. Yours may be past their prime if they no longer clear your windshield effectively. With winter weather conditions on the horizon, it may be time for a new set.
  • Pack an emergency kit. Stash some blankets, a flashlight, salt or kitty litter, water and snacks in your trunk – just in case! (Better safe than sorry, right?)
  • Schedule a maintenance check. If it’s time for a routine service check, book one now! Preventing car trouble is ALWAYS better than an ill-timed breakdown.
