Driving on E? Don’t do it!
Running your fuel tank down to empty is never a good idea, but it’s definitely a no-no in the winter. Here’s why:
- Condensation can accumulate in your fuel tank, making it hard to start your car.
- Winter weather can be unpredictable, and if road conditions are poor, a short trip can easily turn into a much longer one. (You don’t want to get stranded because you simply couldn’t get to a gas station in time.)
- Finally, if you do happen to get stranded in the winter, you could be putting your own safety at risk. Without fuel, you won’t be able to keep your car warm – and that could definitely spell trouble!
Play it safe and make it a habit to ‘fill ‘er up’ when your car hits a quarter of a tank.
