Do rising fuel prices have you down?
It’s spring break for many area schools, and sure enough, gas prices are on the rise. Those in the gas industry often say the increase in prices is the direct result of higher demand during a popular week for travel, but that sure doesn’t ease the pain of having to fork over $60 or $70 (or more) every time you fill up.
With that said, there are a few things you can do to use gas more wisely.
- Make sure your tires are properly inflated.
- Turn off the AC. If you must use it while you’re in the car, consider turning it off five minutes before you arrive at your destination.
- Ease off the gas pedal before as your approach a stop sign instead of breaking quickly.
- Likewise, don’t floor it when the light turns green.
- When you do have to fill up, find the cheapest prices in town with websites and smart-phone applications like www.gasbuddy.com.
